The Pinkas Synagogue (Czech: Pinkasova synagoga) in Prague, Czech Republic was built in about 1535 by Aaron Meshullam Horowitz between his house and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Initially it was a private synagogue of the Horowitz family. Later it was made public and named after Pinkas, rabbi of Prague and grandson of Aaron Horowitz.Currently it is also a memorial of the victims of the Holocaust: its walls are covered with about 77,000 names of perished Bohemian-Moravian Jews. The memorial constitutes part of the Jewish Museum in Prague.
