Founded in 1995, the Yancey Richardson Gallery is a dealer of fine art photography, based in New York City. The founder, Yancey Richardson, brings over 30 years of experience to the gallery's exhibition program, and is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA). Formerly housed in the 560 Broadway building in historic Soho, the gallery moved to the heart of New York's Chelsea art district (525 W 22nd) in 2000.Yancey Richardson Gallery is one of the few galleries in New York City to deal exclusively in photography. The gallery's artists have been collected and exhibited by museums worldwide. Their works have been widely published as artist monographs, in prominent art journals, and among critical theory texts. Reviews of Yancey Richardson's exhibitions have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, ARTnews, Art in America, and Artforum, among many other publications.
The gallery assists both beginning and veteran collectors in locating, buying and selling work by 20th and 21st century established and emerging photographers.
